How I started making cards and card making kits
My name is Vicky. I am 23 years old and have been making cards since I was 13. It all started for me when my mum bought me a couple of card making kits for christmas. I absolutely loved them. I was always one who loved art, textiles and design classes at school so it isn’t really suprising I took to card making like I did. It was once said about me (by someone who shall remain nameless) that I “could make anything out of anything“. I was the kind of kid that kept every scrap of paper, ribbon and box that ever came my way along with more unusual things such as leaves and newspapers (apparently!).
I have made cards for all of my family and friends over the years and have increased in confidence and ability. Said family and friends assure me that my cards are ten times better now then when I was 13! I was always being told that I should consider selling my cards properly and really make a go of it. I have sold quite a number of cards to date and have also had quite alot of bespoke and personalised orders. I ran a “Card Party” last year just before christmas which was a great evening! I also made all my own wedding invitations and wedding stationery and it was great to have something so meaningful for our special day.
It all began with a card making kit….
So here I am…beginning to sell my cards and moving forward card making kits. It began with a kit for me, where will it begin for you?
