Cupcake Birthday Card Ideas
This weekend I have gone a little cupcake crazy! I decided that I would have a go at making some tasty looking cupcake greetings cards in keeping with the current trend for these sweet treats. I recently made some free printable cupcake party invitation templates and hopefully today I can give you some ideas for your own cupcake greetings card project.
For this card I used a square blank, a sheet of Dovecraft 8 x 8 ‘piece of cake’ paper, a die cut cupcake, a piece of white card, sticky pearls and a sticky greeting. I covered the front of the blank with the cupcake paper. Next I stuck the sticky gems on to the die cut. I then mounted the die cut cupcake on to a small rectangle of white card and attached it on to the card using foam pads and stuck on the sticky greeting. Easy peasy and almost good enough to eat!
This card was really simple to make. I used a selection of purple papers that I had in my scrap folder, a piece of purple card, a black fine liner and 3 purple flat black crystals. Firstly I drew a cupcake case on a piece of my scrap purple paper. Instead of cutting it out I tore around it to give a fuzzy edge. I did the same thing for the actual cupcake and attached it to the case with double sided tape. I then stuck the crystal to the top of the cupcake. I repeated this three times with different papers. I used a wave edge blade to cut the purple card to size. I then stuck it on to my square blank and then used foam pads to attach the cupcakes.
This card was made using a card blank, an assortment of papers and a button. I made the cupcake case by concertina folding a strip of brown paper. I then cut the cupcake out of pink mulberry paper and stuck it on to a square of pink paper. I attached the case and the button with double sided tape. I glued the pink paper on to a piece of white card. I had already cut out the pink polka dot paper and glued on to the card blank. I then used foam pads to stick my cupcake motif on to the card. Voilà!

The purple cupcake card is really unusual. I suppose you could hand draw any sort of motif and rip it out. looks good. liz
